EnviroWeb Freenet Accounts
Instructions:
- Freenet e-mail addresses are in the form of user@enviroweb.org OR user@envirolink.org.
- Telnet/shell access is not available.
- E-mail can be accessed in two ways:
- Via POP3/IMAP protocols: To access your mail via POP3/IMAP, use an e-mail program like Netscape Mail, Outlook Express or Eudora. Set your incoming server to freenet.enviroweb.org and your outgoing (SMTP) server to your Internet Service Provider's SMTP server. You may have to contact your ISP to find out what their SMTP server is.
- Via a web interface: To access your mail via a web interface, go to http://webmail.freenet.enviroweb.org and log in with your username and password.
- To set up a forwarding account, please e-mail with your freenet e-mail address and the address all mail should be forwarded to. If you want mail to be forwarded temporarily, please include the start date and end date.
- To set up a vacation message, please e-mail with your freenet e-mail address and the vacation message. If you want the vacation message to be temporary, please include the start date and end date.
All Freenet accounts have a quota of 5 MB of mail. Once this limit is reached, mail addressed to your account will be returned to the sender. You are responsible for regularly downloading your mail to avoid this problem.
If you are having trouble with your password, please e-mail from an alternate e-mail address. EnviroLink does not provide phone support.
Note: the instructions above are not applicable to e-mail accounts associated with domain names other than envirolink.org or enviroweb.org. Please see the general instructions page for this information.
